What should be done if the electrodialysis emulsion layer thickens? Should the amount of demulsifier added be increased, should a different demulsifier be used, or should the emulsion be discharged?

It’s really serious; the only option is to draw out the contaminated oil and dispose of it. However, through the large-scale circulation and redistribution throughout the plant, it will eventually be mixed back in again.
When the emulsion layer becomes severe, it can only be removed. Increasing the amount of demulsifier doesn’t yield very noticeable results, and adjusting it requires careful attention

It is better to cut off the emulsion layer; modern electrodialysis tanks generally come equipped with a line for cutting off the emulsion layer (located in the middle of the sample viewing port)
Definitely, eliminating it is the best and fastest method
The pipeline used for cutting the emulsion layer here has been shut down by installing blind flanges; now, water is used to remove it, in order to re-establish the proper level
Go to the emulsion discharge line and then to the waste oil line system for regular discharge
