Today, the workshop supervisor asked that the temperature inside the atmospheric pressure furnace be raised to below 820 degrees, but it seems that the designed temperature is 800 degrees. I’m not sure if this is feasible Is there any risk?
Is it okay to keep it burning like this for a long time? Can the furnace tube withstand it? I don’t know what material the furnace tube is made of, nor do I know what its heat resistance limit is. The heat resistance limit of the furnace tubes, combined with the scouring force of the crude oil inside the tubes and the force resulting from the thermal expansion of the crude oil, means it remains an old furnace.
The process specification is ≯800, and the design specification should be higher. It depends on the information provided by the manufacturer. However, operating beyond the normal process parameters is definitely an unsafe practice
First, it is necessary to consider whether the furnace tube material is suitable. Secondly, it is necessary to consider whether coking will occur in the medium.
Our target is 800°C; in reality, it never exceeds this value, and it’s quite rare for it to go above 740°C. If the furnace overheats, it is necessary to pay attention to the surface temperature of the furnace tubes and the temperature at the furnace outlet. If the furnace tube is burned out or coked, the consequences are severe!
Operations must be carried out in accordance with the design parameters; too high a value poses certain safety risks and can also lead to phenomena such as coking of the furnace tubes.
The process parameter is ≯800 (set by ourselves), but the key factors are the material of the furnace tubes and the data provided by the manufacturer. If required by production and the furnace tube material can withstand it, the process parameters can be modified to prevent alarms
