The unit has reached the end of its operational life; a fault occurred in the re-refining system, and it was not possible to establish a re-refining cycle. Re-refined oil is not re-refined; in order to maintain the liquid level in the re-refined oil tank, the amount of re-refined oil returned to the tower has been reduced from 70–80 tons per hour to 20 tons per hour. The problem is that the liquid level in the re-refined oil tank cannot be maintained, and as the amount of re-refined oil returned to the tower increases, the liquid level at the bottom of the distillation tower rises rapidly. Can’t we reduce the amount of reprocessed oil returning to the tower?
There is a high likelihood of blockage in the extract layer of the reprocessed oil, leading to localized flooding of the tower and an increase in the overall pressure drop across the tower. Even if the amount of reprocessed oil returned to the tower does not increase, the liquid level at the bottom of the distillation tower will still experience significant fluctuations from time to time. Generally, depending on the location of the flooding and changes in operating conditions, the liquid level in the light diesel stripping tower, or the amount of light diesel extracted, will also vary considerably. I agree with Chengkang's opinion. Additionally, if local flooding occurs, the temperature difference and pressure difference across these layers can be observed. If the pressure drop across these layers increases significantly while the temperature difference is small, it indicates a high likelihood of flooding. If that’s not the case, then another possibility is that the oil collection tank at the extraction port is leaking. If flooding is caused by a clogged suction port, backpressurization can be considered; try to increase the pressure by backpressurizing toward the suction port. Personal opinion.
The equipment issues were overlooked; considering only the operational aspects, there is indeed a possibility of leakage from the reprocessed oil extraction hopper, as well as a possibility that a tray in the reprocessed oil extraction section might flip or fall off.
