Mass flow meter installation issues

The mass flow meters for the paraffin oil and heavy oil coming from our company’s tank farm are installed in front of the control valves, while the device for stabilizing gasoline is located behind the control valves. I would like to ask whether there is any difference in the installation location of the mass flow meters before and after these valves? Which standard should be used for measurement?
There shouldn’t be any difference, as the installation of a mass flow meter does not have strict requirements regarding straight pipe sections. For heavier media, it may be necessary to consider the heat dissipation and insulation at the installation location; generally, mass flow meters can withstand higher temperatures.
There shouldn’t be much difference, right? But for easier maintenance, it’s better to put it at the back. If that’s correct, please give a score, haha
