Everyone, when the side stream oil from the atmospheric and vacuum distillation side stream stripping tower is used as a cracking feedstock, stripping is not necessary. Why?
In atmospheric distillation columns for crude oil, there is only a rectification section during the distillation process, with no stripping section; as a result, the side products contain a high proportion of light components. To improve the quality of these products, stripping columns are used. The principle behind this is to employ steam for stripping, thereby creating separate stripping sections for the first, second, and third side streams. This approach helps to increase the removal rate of light components and ensures the quality of the side products
Side-line stripping is used to control the flash point of the side-line products; it is employed as feed for cracking processes, and light components are also produced during these processes, so side-line stripping is not very useful. For example, in fuel-type atmospheric and vacuum distillation units, stripping towers are not used for the vacuum side lines.
What was said on the 3rd floor is correct; the purpose of providing stripping steam in a stripper is mainly to control the content of light components in the product. In terms of product quality control, this means: first, controlling the flash point of the side-product, and second, being able to adjust the initial boiling point of the product. As a cracking feedstock, there is no need for control.
In atmospheric and vacuum distillation units of the conventional lubricating oil type, a stripping tower is installed; however, based on the principles of cracking, stripping is not used as it increases the energy consumption of the plant.
