36. What are the causes of simultaneous or separate drops in oil level and oil pressure at the air pressure oil station, and what are the corrective measures?
A simultaneous drop in oil pressure and oil tank level is mainly caused by significant leakage from the oil system, such as broken pressure oil pipes, leaks at flanges, damaged tubes in the cooling coil, or accidental opening of the drain valve, all of which lead to substantial loss of oil. When both the oil pressure and the oil level in the tank drop, the following measures should be taken: (1) Check whether there are any leaks in the oil system pipes; contact the equipment maintenance team immediately and take temporary measures to prevent the oil from leaking onto hot pipes and causing a fire. Refill the fuel tank at the same time; if refilling does not work, any leak must not be addressed while the unit is in operation, as this could pose a fire hazard. In such cases, the unit should be stopped immediately by shutting down the switch. (2) Check whether the tube bundle of the cold oil cooler is cracked and leaking oil. If the cold oil cooler is leaking, measures should be taken to shut down the operating cold oil cooler. However, during this shutdown process, it is essential to prevent a cut-off in oil supply, so as to ensure the normal operation of the other cold oil cooler and maintain lubrication for the bearings, before proceeding with further actions. (3) Check that if there are oil drain valves or water drain valves at the bottom of the fuel tank that have been accidentally opened, they should be closed immediately, and fuel should be added to restore the normal oil level in the tank.
Reason: (1) Oil system leakage or clogged filter; (2) Pump or control valve failure. Measures: (1) Check for oil leaks, top up lubricant as needed, seal the leaks or replace the filter, swap out the filter element, and adjust the oil pressure to normal levels ; (2) Contact a fitter to handle the pump or control valve, or switch to a bypass line for control.
