The equipment installation phase has begun for the first phase of the adiponitrile project at Shanxi Runheng Chemical. By the end of February 2023, the 10,000-ton-per-year production line of the first phase of this project at Shanxi Runheng Chemical Co., Ltd. had entered the equipment installation stage, with commissioning expected in 2023. The project utilizes an independently developed acrylonitrile diaphragm-free electrolytic dimerization method to produce adiponitrile, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of adiponitrile (10,000 tons per year in the first phase, and an expansion to 100,000 tons per year in the second phase). Innovation’s ADN production facility came online on November 25, 2022; the production plant for adiponitrile (ADN) used in Innovation’s nylon products was officially established in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP). Once operational, Innovation’s ADN production capacity will exceed 400,000 tons per year. On October 26, 2022, the Binhai Branch of the Weifang Ecology and Environment Bureau issued a announcement stating that the environmental impact assessment report for Shandong Xinhecheng Fine Chemicals Technology Co., Ltd.’s project for producing high-end nylon and high-grade optical materials had been approved. Upon completion, the project will have an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of nylon 66, 100,000 tons of adiponitrile, 100,000 tons of hexamethylenediamine, and 12,700 tons of methylpentanenitrile ； Production capacity of 40,000 tons of polymethyl methacrylate, 40,000 tons of methyl methacrylate, and 42,000 tons of methyl propionate. On October 18, 2022, the Administrative Approval Bureau of Anshan City, Liaoning Province, and the Bureau for Improving the Business Environment in Anshan City issued a public announcement regarding the approval process for the environmental impact assessment document related to Anshan Zhongneng Fine Chemicals Technology Co., Ltd.’s project for the deep processing of adipic acid on a scale of 32,000 tons per year. The final product of this project is 20,000 tons per year of adiponitrile. China Chemical’s 200,000 tons per year hexanitronic acid project came online. On July 31, 2022, China Chemical held a ceremony at Tianchen Qixiang Nylon New Materials Co., Ltd. in Zibo to mark the successful commissioning of this facility; it marked the completion of the entire production process for China’s first industrial-scale hexanitronic acid production plant using the butadiene method, with high-quality products being produced as a result. Completion of Huafeng Group’s adiponitrile project On June 29, 2022, Huafeng Group’s 300,000-ton/year adiponitrile project (Phase 3) was completed in Fuling District, Chongqing. With the operation of Phase 3, Chongqing Huafeng will have the capacity to produce 200,000 tons of adiponitrile and 200,000 tons of adipamide per year!
