The Bisphenol A project is a major project in Shandong Province. It incorporates the chemical technologies of American companies Begell and Kellogg Brown & Root. Throughout its construction, the concept of \"four modernizations\"—internationalization of technology, large-scale equipment, environmental sustainability, and modern management—is upheld. Additionally, the project adheres to the \"five integrations\" development strategy, which includes integrated planning and construction, integrated safety and environmental protection, integrated utility systems, integrated warehousing and logistics, and integrated intelligent management. In recent years, the Gulf Group has been steadily advancing a preliminary transformation, shifting from a focus on chlor-alkali chemicals alone to a model that integrates chlor-alkali and petrochemical industries, and moving from the production of basic chemical raw materials to the production of chemicals for end-use applications as well as high-end new materials. Currently, projects such as epichlorohydrin, epoxy resins, vinyl chloride, and the expansion and renovation of polystyrene are all being advanced at an accelerated pace in accordance with the schedule, to ensure their early completion, commissioning, and realization of benefits. “During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Qingdao Gulf Group advanced into the \"deep waters\" by extending, strengthening, and improving its industrial chains. The bisphenol A project will mark the beginning of Gulf Group’s involvement in the propylene industry chain, with the bisphenol A products produced being used extensively in high-end manufacturing sectors. Once the bisphenol A production facility is put into operation, it will become an important part of Gulf Group’s industrial chain for high-end new materials and composite materials based on epichlorohydrin, bisphenol A, and epoxy resins. It represents Gulf Group’s strategic investment in the field of high-end new material products, and it is of great significance for the group’s adjustment of its product portfolio and its transition toward high-tech materials. It will also play a key role in the transformation and upgrading of Qingdao’s chemical industry.
