Sinopec has applied for patents related to the sedimentation and separation of crude methanol feedstock, which reduces the content of high-carbon hydrocarbons in this feedstock to below 30 ppm, as well as methods for converting methanol into olefins. According to information from the Intellectual Property Office, dated June 3, 2025, Sinopec Corporation and Sinopec (Shanghai) Petrochemical Research Institute Co., Ltd. have filed a patent titled “Method and apparatus for sedimentation and separation of crude methanol feedstock, as well as methods and systems for converting methanol into olefins”. The publication number of this patent is CN120054049A, with the application date being November 2023. The patent abstract indicates that the present invention discloses a sedimentation separation method and separator for crude methanol feedstock, as well as a method and system for converting methanol into olefins ； A sedimentation separator for crude methanol feedstock, which includes: a separator body, said separator body comprising a separation zone, a sedimentation zone, and an aggregation zone that are connected in sequence from top to bottom along the direction of gravity ； The separation zone comprises a first separation zone and a second separation zone, which are formed by separation through partitions arranged along the direction of gravity; both the first separation zone and the second separation zone are in communication with the sedimentation zone ； The first separation zone, from high to low in the direction of gravity, includes a first mixing zone I and a first acceleration zone I; the second separation zone, from high to low in the direction of gravity, includes a second mixing zone II and a second acceleration zone II ； At the top of the first separation zone, there are an inlet I for hot crude methanol feed and an inlet I for cold crude methanol feed.
