Recently, Zhenhai Refining & Chemical completed the production and shipment of the first batch of specialty energy storage petroleum coke, which was supplied to well-known domestic manufacturers of lithium battery anode materials for use in the production of high-end battery anode materials. This marks a significant step forward for the company in advancing the sophistication of its petroleum coke products. The specially produced energy-storage petroleum coke was manufactured by Zhenhai Refining & Chemical’s No. 2 coking unit. Its key performance parameters fully meet the industry technical standards for anode materials used in energy-storage batteries. It boasts notable advantages such as low volatile matter content, stable performance, and excellent electrochemical properties; its economic value is significantly higher than that of conventional petroleum coke. To ensure that product quality meets standards, Refining Department 2 at Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Co., Ltd. works closely with the Production Department to precisely adjust the raw materials used in Unit 2 of the coking plant. Through refined management measures such as optimizing process parameters and implementing comprehensive quality control throughout the production process, the product quality was ensured to meet the standards for specialty energy storage petroleum coke. To date, the company has produced over 5,000 tons of this product in total, laying a solid foundation for further market expansion. The successful production and shipment of specialized energy storage petroleum coke not only enriches Zhenhai Refining & Chemical’s portfolio of high-end products but also enhances the value of petroleum coke products, opening up new pathways for the company to improve its quality and efficiency.
