This post was last edited by Shuichangshou on 2009-12-31 11:51. Olefins and hydrogen sulfide produce thioalcohols; does the same thing happen in the absence of a catalyst? What is the relationship with temperature? I would like to ask for advice
I’ve also only read in some materials that thiols can be produced, and usually they are thiols of polymers; I’m not entirely clear on the details. I look forward to experts helping to clarify this.
For diesel or gasoline hydrogenation units: high levels of hydrogen sulfide in the recycle hydrogen can inhibit the hydrodesulfurization reaction; moreover, hydrogen sulfide reacts with the olefins in gasoline to form thiol compounds. Therefore, to ensure an adequate degree of hydrodesulfurization and to reduce the secondary formation of thioles after hydrogenation, catalytic cracking gasoline hydrodesulfurization units should be equipped with hydrogen sulfide removal equipment for the recycle hydrogen. Under normal circumstances, the H2S concentration should be kept at ≤ 100 mg/m3. The diesel hydrogenation unit controls the H2S content in the recycle hydrogen to ≤ 10,000 mg/m3. This reaction takes place in the presence of a catalyst, and it can occur during the hydrogenation of diesel or gasoline at the reaction temperatures specified in the process design.
