High-voltage motor control circuit

Hello everyone, I work with high-voltage systems and rarely deal with medium-voltage systems. Could some handsome guys or beautiful girls explain the control components of the medium-voltage main circuit (10KV)? I heard that for the control of 10KV motors, there’s only a circuit breaker that connects directly to the motor – is that true? Can the motor really be controlled just by using the circuit breaker? ? ? I read on the internet that there’s also a water resistor – what is it for? Is it necessary? Please ask experts for advice! ! When started directly, the circuit breaker is connected directly to the motor; the water resistor is used to achieve soft starting, thereby enabling reduced-voltage starting of the motor.
