As shown in the figure below, all the switches for the lighting fixtures in the workshop are operated by moving them up and down inside a box; moreover, there are no partitions inside the box, posing a risk of touching the wire ends. I was just wondering if there are any standard requirements that state lights and switches shouldn’t be used in this way?
I don’t think this meets the requirements; it’s difficult to find any guidelines to convince the management. At least there should be a dedicated switch for control, as people don’t turn lights on and off at the distribution box every day at home.
It’s fine to connect the circuit breaker this way; just follow proper wiring standards
Are all the lighting fixtures explosion-proof? To save money, no explosion-proof lighting switches are used.
It is generally not allowed to control lighting circuits by operating circuit breakers; proper design involves installing buttons or knob switches in the workshop.

This control method is fine; it’s just necessary to have a baffle in front of the circuit breaker.

Modify it yourself by adding a panel for the lighting distribution box! A lighting distribution box is the same kind as those used at home; pre-made panels are available, and you just need to find a suitable location to install it.
There are no standard requirements for this; if the management attaches importance to safety, it will be replaced; otherwise, some precautions should be taken
