In chemical plants, we consider restarting important motors; if there are many of them, they need to be restarted in batches. But how can we determine the impact of starting these motors together on the system? Is it the concern that the current will reach the tripping value for the incoming line, or is it the worry that the voltage will drop to the tripping value? What does so-called black start of the power grid mean?
Calculate the voltage drop and current values of the motor group. First, the current must not exceed the quick-break value for incoming lines or the short-time overcurrent setting; second, it must not cause the contactors of the motors that have already started to trip again due to low control voltage!
