Have there been any cases of explosions caused by internal arcing in 10KV high-voltage cabinets? What are the general requirements for the explosion-proof rating or standards of observation window glass?
Should acrylic or tempered glass be used for the glass material?
High-voltage rooms are all non-hazardous areas, so there’s no need for explosion protection. It seems that acrylic is used quite often for glass.

High-voltage rooms are non-explosion-proof areas; acrylic glass is generally used for these rooms. Vacuum circuit breakers are employed in high-voltage cabinets. In the event of an explosion, the vacuum circuit breaker will cut off the fault current. If there is a fault inside the high-voltage cabinet, an explosive shock wave will be generated, causing the acrylic glass to bulge out, but this will not result in any injury to people.
