Does a horizontal tank storing a liquid with a boiling point of 32°C need to be equipped with a safety valve? Thank you.
The conditions are not complete; one cannot rely solely on the boiling point.
However, a boiling point of 32 degrees Celsius is already quite low; it should be C5. For n-pentane of C5 grade, storage in spherical tanks is required, while for smaller quantities pressure tanks are used, with the pressure needing to be above 100 KPa; therefore, safety valves must be installed.
To prevent the pressure inside the tank from increasing due to liquid vaporization, a safety valve is required
