Technical Instructions for Curtain Wall Engineering I. Construction Plan for Installing the Curtain Wall (1) The scaffolding must meet the relevant construction standards in terms of material quality. By combining frames, panels, and nets, for any laying work within the construction and installation area (such as installing doors, windows, or curtain walls), the scaffold should be placed about 400 mm away from the wall surface. The roof should serve as a fully accessible working surface, with its height determined by the installers based on their usual practices or adjusted according to the requirements of the construction. Both parties shall actively cooperate to ensure the project schedule and quality. (II) The Party B shall be provided with the water and electricity needed for construction (including water and electricity for daily use). The distance to the water and electricity supply sources should be determined according to actual needs, with a maximum distance of 50 meters. (III) Vertical transportation equipment (such as elevators, tower cranes, hoists, etc.), to facilitate the installation of curtain walls or doors and windows at heights. (IV) After signing the contract, Party A shall provide a complete set of architectural drawings and relevant construction documents, including wind load data and any special requirements for the project, so that Party B can carry out the design work. (5) Party A shall accurately and clearly mark on the building, using paint or chalk lines, the control coordinate axes in front of, behind, to the left of, to the right of, above, and below the installation site of the curtain wall or exterior decorative aluminum panel curtain wall, as well as the boundary lines of the curtain wall and its horizontal and vertical elevations, in accordance with the construction drawings or structural drawings. These markings shall serve as a basis for the design and installation of the curtain wall or exterior decorative aluminum panel curtain wall. (6) Any conflicts and disputes that arise during construction shall be resolved through discussions between the representatives of Party A and Party B. Records of these discussions shall be kept, with one copy signed by each representative, to serve as a basis for the project acceptance. (7) Party A shall assist Party B in handling the necessary procedures related to on-site construction as well as addressing the accommodation and meal needs of the workers; the costs associated with accommodation and meals shall be borne by Party B. Party A shall provide the necessary facilities to facilitate Party B’s secondary handling of materials. (8) The design of the curtain wall construction drawings shall be based on the building construction drawings; these drawings must clearly indicate the coordinate axes of the curtain wall in terms of front/back, left/right, and up/down, as well as its dimensional relationships with horizontal and vertical elevations, to facilitate design, installation, and construction. If a design change is required, it should be proposed promptly by the architectural design firm or the client, and all the revised documents must be provided to the contractor. The contractor shall respond within 10 days; once both parties sign, the change becomes effective. Any losses resulting from such a change shall be borne by the client. (IX) For more complex engineering structures (such as arcs, corners, and diagonal angles), or in cases where there are significant errors during construction and the drawings do not match the actual conditions, making it impossible to determine the exact cutting dimensions, this should be indicated on the construction drawings, and Party B shall notify Party A in writing. When determining the construction plan, Party B should first refer to the building construction drawings, and then go to the site to procure the materials for that specific section. Party A should respond promptly to Party B’s actions in order to avoid unnecessary waste; if Party A raises no objections, Party B shall consider it as approval of the plan and proceed with construction to ensure the schedule is met. (10) Before Party B enters the site, Party A shall level out the construction errors in the building structure at the location where the curtain wall will be installed, using methods such as chiseling and repair; the resulting deviation after leveling should not exceed 10 mm. The error in floor height and the absolute error of the building should be indicated on the building, with the values of the errors shown. The highest and lowest points of the building, as well as its layout, shall be notified in writing to Party B to ensure smooth design and installation by Party B. (11) After completing the aforementioned tasks, Party A shall provide Party B with a warehouse storage area that is well-ventilated and protected from rain, wind, fire, and sunlight, so that Party B can access the site. If the above conditions are not met, resulting in delays in the work carried out by Party B’s construction team, Party A shall cover the lost working hours of Party B and take responsibility for the delay in the project timeline. The costs related to travel and other expenses shall be determined jointly by both parties and included in the contract. (12) If the representative of Party B detects quality issues during on-site construction, the person in charge of Party B shall promptly report such issues to the factory’s technical, production, sales, and quality control departments, in order to resolve them as soon as possible and minimize losses. Ensure issues are resolved within the same day to guarantee project quality and schedule. II. Preparations before construction: (1) Before entering the site, Party B shall ensure that water, electricity, and vertical transportation facilities meet the requirements of construction; that there are appropriate storage areas for finished products, semi-finished products, and materials; and that safety facilities are in place. (II) After the construction order contract between Party A and Party B comes into effect, the drawings prepared through Party B’s second-round design shall, after being reviewed and signed by Party A, serve as the basis for manufacturing and inspection. (III) Inspect and verify the door openings and windows for which the civil engineering wet work has been completed, to ensure that the dimensions of these openings match those specified in the drawings, and that the gap between the window frames and the surrounding wall structures meets the technical requirements. (IV) Installation principles: Check the reference lines; before installing the curtain wall doors and windows, installation should be carried out using the three lines provided by the civil engineering works as a basis (elevation line, center line, and inlet/outlet line). If anything is unclear or if you have any doubts, please confirm with Party A promptly. The only baseline must be adhered to, namely: on the same elevation, only the midline serves as the baseline and is the sole baseline. (5) Ensure that the scaffolding or lifting platforms used for installation meet the requirements of the installation conditions and are safe and reliable. (VI) Check the finished and semi-finished products present to ensure they come with certificates of conformity and protective films, and that their models and quantities match those of the components to be installed. (7) After the inspection, before the construction unit (Party A) fills the mortar joints, it is necessary to check on one’s own whether the quality of the installed products meets the specified standards. If there are no defects, the construction unit and the project supervisor in charge should be notified promptly so that a joint inspection can be carried out to ensure that the technical installation standards are met. (8) For door and window frames that have undergone installation inspection, the civil engineering contractor shall promptly fill the window gaps with cement mortar. When filling the cement mortar, care should be taken to protect the surface of the finished product, to avoid damage or deformation, as well as to prevent mortar from falling onto the guide rails of the profiles. III. Determine the direction of construction starting point and the construction steps: For this project, an top-down installation sequence is adopted, starting from the top floor and moving downward layer by layer. Construction steps: (1) Install the door frames and window frames in accordance with the relevant dimensional requirements specified in the design drawings. (II) Fill the grout with civil engineering materials, making sure to avoid frame deformation. (III) Install movable doors and glass. (IV) All attachments shall be installed completely; the start-up test shall be adjusted to meet the design requirements, with relevant dimensions and positions satisfying tolerance specifications. The closure shall be tight, and the switches shall operate smoothly, without any obstruction, rebound, or warping. The appearance quality meets the standard of a clean surface, with no severe scratches or dents ; No corrosion; the coated surface is smooth and even. Party B shall conduct self-inspections of all the above quality requirements and keep records thereof; if the standards are not met, repairs or replacements shall be carried out immediately.
