Dear experts in this field: May I ask if valves and rupture discs can be installed between the foam generator and the storage tank? We encountered a client who was concerned that if the foam generator were connected directly to the flange of the storage tank, the gas phase of the stored medium could reach the buffer tank of the foam generator and corrode it; therefore, they wanted to install a rupture disc. Additionally, a valve is needed to shut off the foam generator when it requires maintenance. So, I want to install a valve and a burst disc barrier between the foam generator and the storage tank. Is this fire extinguisher allowed? Is there any specification that explains this? At the moment, we haven’t found any evidence here to determine whether it’s possible or not. I would appreciate it if the experts in this field could offer some guidance. Thank you, thank you! !

Ours have valves, but they need to remain open at all times
What type of fluid is stored in your storage tanks? Will the fire protection inspection be approved with those valves in place?
This should be normally open; the main purpose of the valve is for use during maintenance

After discussions and by consulting the Tianjin Institute of Consumer Science, the opinion from the standards formulation team was that installation is not allowed.
