There are 3 sections in the overhead pipeline corridor; the red ones represent the pipelines. The vertical pipe section in the middle is not part of the same structure as the pipes on the left and right. When the corridor expands or contracts due to heat, and there is uneven settlement, how should the pipes be connected so as not to damage them? Are there any specific requirements for connecting the pipes in such situations? I’m seeking advice – construction is about to begin
Do not use fixed pipe racks on the intermediate vertical pipe gallery; sliding supports are sufficient.

The telescoping issue can be resolved with sliding brackets, but what about uneven settlement? Is a metal flexible joint necessary? Thank you
If the settlement of your utility tunnel is so large, it’s obviously a problem with the civil engineering design; generally, there are specific requirements regarding settlement. I’ve only seen settlement issues taken into account in the pipelines connecting storage tanks, and that’s also because of the weight of the tanks!
Mine is a steel structure pipe gallery; I’m not sure whether I need to take settlement into consideration
Just make a U-shaped expansion bend – one horizontal section at the top and one at the bottom; that will solve the issue of horizontal offset. Then make another U-shaped bend in the vertical direction, and that should resolve the vertical issue as well, right?
