1. Problems with the design of the new system: If the designed water quality specifies a low salt content, such as less than 1000 mg/L, but the actual salt content exceeds 5000 mg/L, then the reverse osmosis membranes in the ultra-pure water treatment equipment will basically not produce any water. 2. Temperature issue: Currently, temperatures in the northern regions are dropping significantly. For some reverse osmosis systems whose water temperature is already low, if the operating pressure isn’t adjusted, the membranes will essentially stop producing water. 3. Problems of membrane fouling and contamination: In ultra-pure water production systems, the reverse osmosis membranes can become severely contaminated or fouled when there is a high level of organic matter in the feed water, when there are issues with the quality of the scale inhibitors, or when there are problems with their application. As a result, the membranes essentially stop producing water. 4. Failures in ultra-pure water equipment: Issues such as the reverse osmosis membrane elements being installed in the wrong orientation, or leaks in the saltwater sealing rings, can lead to an actual recovery rate that is too high, resulting in severe scaling. Once things reach a certain degree of severity, the reverse osmosis membrane in the ultra-pure water equipment basically stops producing water.
