Last month, Shanghai Petrochemical’s 952-ton/year oil sludge drying unit was successfully commissioned and produced qualified dried material. The project has significantly reduced the amount of oil sludge generated during the production and operation process at Shanghai Petrochemical that needs to be sent for disposal elsewhere. This project was established to handle the sludge and oil sludge from the oil-containing wastewater treatment units of the Environmental Protection Water Department, as well as the sediment from oil-containing wastewater tanks and sewage ponds. By subjecting oil sludge to dewatering and drying treatment, it is possible to reduce the amount of oil sludge, recover the contaminated oil, lower disposal costs, and decrease pollution emissions.
