At 15:06 on July 14, 2024, the last core equipment in Unit 1 of the purification facility at the Inner Mongolia Baofeng coal-based new materials project – the feed gas cooler I for the low-temperature coil reactor 5132-E-01001 – was hoisted into place, marking the entry of the purification facility into its final stages of completion. The 5132-E-01001 raw gas cooler I weighs 520 tons, has a diameter of 5.2 meters, and a length of 19 meters. Production of this equipment began in May 2023, and after 13 months of meticulous work, numerous manufacturing challenges and processing bottlenecks were overcome. Once manufactured, the equipment arrived at the project site after 63 days and nights of continuous transportation. To ensure the smooth execution of the lifting operations, the project team planned carefully in advance and repeatedly optimized the lifting plan. After deciding to use a 1600-ton crawler crane as the main lifting device and a 400-ton crawler crane for assisting with the lifting, they prepared a work list based on the schedule for the arrival of the equipment, defined the tasks to be carried out, and assigned responsibilities to specific individuals. During the lifting process, all relevant units worked closely together; after a series of actions including lifting the equipment, transporting it, releasing the hook used for tail lifting, and moving the boom of the main crane, the equipment was successfully installed in place.
