On June 27, it was reported that the civil engineering work for the Sichuan Star Sodium-Ion Battery Industry Complex project, located in Mayou Smart Manufacturing City within the Eastern Economic Development Zone of Dazhou, is expected to be completed next month. The Sichuan Starry Sky Sodium-ion Battery Industry Comprehensive Project will be constructed in three phases, with a total investment of 11.5 billion yuan. The main construction components include sodium-ion cells, PACK integration, sodium-ion battery energy storage stations and 110kV substation distribution lines, as well as an intelligent grid management system. Among them, the sodium-ion battery energy storage station project covers an area of 183 mu, with a planned installed capacity of 1 GWh. Once completed, it will serve as a shared energy storage facility within the park, providing energy storage services to various enterprises. Once Phase 1 and Phase 2 of PACK are completed, it will become the largest sodium-ion battery production base in China, with an annual production capacity of 20 GWh and an annual output value of nearly 20 billion yuan. This will contribute significantly to advancements in energy storage technology and the optimization of the energy structure, thereby supporting the high-quality development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin City Economic Circle. At present, the pile foundations and underground pipeline networks for this project have been completed; 90% of the work on the equipment foundations is done, 60% of the road construction in the park is complete, and 80% of the steel structure work for the photovoltaic shelters has been finished. Construction workers are stationed at various work sites, carrying out their tasks in an organized and efficient manner. Based on the current progress, the civil engineering works for the project are expected to be fully completed by mid-July, laying the foundation for the subsequent installation and testing of equipment.
