400,000 tons/year full-density polyethylene project completed successfully 2025-07-11 According to news from July 10, the 400,000 tons/year full-density polyethylene unit of China Petroleum Guangxi Petrochemical Integration and Transformation Project, which was under the general contracting of Daqing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully completed to high standards, thus achieving this key milestone in the project’s development. It has reached industry-leading levels in terms of both technology and equipment. This marks the official transition of the facility from the project construction phase to the stage of joint commissioning and trial production, thereby injecting strong momentum into the industrial upgrading of Guangxi Petrochemical Company. The refining and chemical integration transformation and upgrading project of Guangxi Petrochemical Company is a major project within the planning and development of the petrochemical industry. With a total investment of around 30.5 billion yuan, it aims to build an ethylene refinery with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tons, along with the corresponding supporting facilities (including 14 chemical processing units and 2 refining units). Among them, the 400,000 tons per year full-density polyethylene plant was constructed under the company’s general contract; it utilizes Univation’s UNIPOL PE technology and employs a single-reactor low-pressure gas-phase fluidized-bed polymerization process. This approach offers significant advantages such as high production efficiency, stable product quality, and low energy consumption. Once operational, the plant will have an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons, and it will be able to produce 19 different grades of polyethylene products. These products are widely used in industries such as agriculture, packaging, construction, and automotive manufacturing, thereby contributing to the coordinated development of the entire industrial chain.
