Double joy! On the same day, the two polyethylene production units of Guangxi Petrochemical’s integration and transformation project were completed to high standards. On the morning of July 10th, the two main production facilities at Guangxi Petrochemical – one for 400,000 tons per year of full-density polyethylene (FDPE) and another for 300,000 tons per year of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) – were completed to high quality and stringent standards. The two sets of facilities were constructed respectively by Daqing Huanguo and CNPC 7th Construction Company, as well as Jilin Huanguo and CNPC 1st Construction Company; Jilin Mengxi was responsible for supervision. Construction began in December 2023, and it took 19 months to complete. The 400,000 tons per year full-density polyethylene plant adopts UNIPOL PE process technology from Univation Company; using ethylene as the main raw material and butylene or hexene as comonomers, it produces linear low-density and some medium- and high-density polyethylene granular resins. The device boasts significant advantages such as high production efficiency, stable product quality, and low energy consumption. It is capable of producing 19 different grades of polyethylene products, which are widely used in industries such as agriculture, packaging, construction, and automotive manufacturing, thereby contributing significantly to the coordinated development of the entire industrial chain. During the construction period, 31,300 cubic meters of concrete were poured, 4,162 tons of steel structures were installed, 135,000 inches of process piping were welded, 198 pieces of mechanical and electrical equipment were installed, 486 kilometers of cables were laid, and key equipment such as extrusion granulators was installed with precision. Numerous technical challenges were overcome, which facilitated the high-quality progress of the construction project. A 300,000 tons/year high-density polyethylene plant that uses ethylene and hydrogen as raw materials, with butene-1 as a comonomer, to produce single-peak or multi-peak products in a hexane solvent environment. The plant utilizes advanced polymerization technology to polymerize ethylene monomer into high-density polyethylene products, offering advantages such as high production efficiency, stable product quality, high degree of automation, energy conservation and environmental protection, strong adaptability, and high safety. During the construction period, 31,500 cubic meters of concrete were poured, 7,500 tons of steel structures were installed, 223 mechanical and electrical devices were installed, 290,000 inches of process piping were welded, 804.4 kilometers of cables were laid, 1,555 instrumentation devices were installed, and 459 electrical devices were installed.
