On August 9, the 300,000-ton/year high-pressure low-density polyethylene plant as part of the Tarim Phase II ethylene project at Dushanzi Petrochemical Company officially began construction. This marks the entry into the construction phase of all the main units of the Tarim Phase II ethylene project, laying a solid foundation for the overall progress of the project. The plant is expected to be completed by September 30, 2027
The 300,000 tons per year high-pressure low-density polyethylene plant is a facility that produces EVA as well; it is currently the only flexible production line in China’s refining industry capable of manufacturing both copolymerized and homopolymerized products. The development of this production line, from a logic diagram in the feasibility study phase to its current construction stage, has been made possible thanks to the excellent technical expertise and professional capabilities of Daqing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. The hexene-1 unit of Dushanzi Petrochemical Company was the first industrial plant in all of Asia at that time (2014) to employ CNPC’s own proprietary process technology ; Tianli High-Tech Petrochemical’s 200,000 tons per year EVA project set the world’s fastest record for bringing a high-pressure low-density polyethylene production line online, from the start of construction to actual operation, in 15 years – a record that was achieved through the efforts of Daqing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. in collaboration with Jilin Chemical Construction. The members of Daqing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. and Jilin Chemical Construction Team who participated in this project have all accumulated extensive experience in the construction of the 200,000 tons per year high-pressure low-density polyethylene plant at Dushanzi Petrochemical in 2019.
