Recently, the main construction of Phase 1 of the Gansu Heihe Silicon-based New Materials Comprehensive Utilization Project, located in the Zhangye Economic Development Zone, has entered its final stage. As a key project designated by the province for 2024, this project is pursuing the concept of \"green, low-carbon, intelligent, and efficient\" in its efforts to become a benchmark for the silicon-based new materials industry in the northwest region. At the Gansu Heihe Silicon-based New Materials Comprehensive Utilization Project, tower cranes can be seen everywhere and machines are operating at full capacity; the outline of a large-scale intelligent steel structure factory is already taking shape. Workers are carrying out cement pouring operations, creating a highly active scene. Zhang Cai, the chief engineer of Gansu Heihe Silicon-based New Materials Co., Ltd., said, “At present, 80% of the overall project progress has been completed. The main buildings such as the comprehensive office building, restaurant, laboratory, and smelting plant have all been finished. Currently, work is underway on the installation of the laboratory furnace system, the main dust removal and iron removal systems for electric furnaces, as well as the air cooling system. Completion of the construction is expected by December this year.” ” The total investment in this project is 2.063 billion yuan, and it is planned to be implemented in two phases. In the first phase, a production facility for 60,000 tons of industrial silicon per year, along with supporting waste heat recovery and environmental protection facilities, will be built ; In the second phase, industrial silicon production facilities of the same scale will be expanded, along with the addition of a production line for high-purity ferrosilicon with an annual output of 50,000 tons. Upon completion of the entire project, it will have an annual production capacity of 120,000 tons of industrial silicon and 50,000 tons of high-purity ferrosilicon, with an annual output value of 2.94 billion yuan. “Adhering to design principles of intelligence, sustainability, low carbon emissions, and energy efficiency, this project can consume 1 billion kWh of new energy locally each year, thereby making the most of clean energy sources. At the same time, the accompanying waste heat generator sets can generate electricity from the waste heat in the circuits each year, with all of this electricity being used for the company’s closed-loop production processes, thus truly achieving the recycling of resources. ”said Wang Shiqiang, manager of Gansu Heihe Silicon-based New Materials Co., Ltd.
