The lifting of the large-scale equipment for the purification unit in Itai Yili Energy Co., Ltd.’s 1 million tons per year coal-to-oil demonstration project was successfully completed

The Coal Tar Deep Processing and Hydrogenation Technology Cooperation Group was informed that on August 13, 2025, the lifting of the large-scale equipment for the purification unit of Yitai Ili Energy Co., Ltd.’s 1 million tons per year coal-to-oil demonstration project, a task carried out by Shaanxi Huajian Lifting Company, was successfully completed. After nearly 3 months of continuous efforts, this milestone task was successfully completed. The Yitai Ili Energy 1 million tons per year coal-to-oil project uses local coal as raw material, employing the multi-nozzle water-coal slurry gasification technology developed by East China University of Science and Technology, as well as the coal-to-oil technology invented by Sinocat Synthetic Oil Company. It produces a total of 1.0582 million tons per year of products such as alkylbenzenes, high-carbon alcohols, high-quality light hydrocarbons, FTO waxes, n-C10-14 compounds, white oils, liquid paraffins, and liquefied petroleum gas; meanwhile, by-products such as mixed alcohols and sulfur are also generated. The Itai Yili demonstration project commenced construction in June 2011. The total investment for project planning is 16.068 billion yuan. By the end of 2022, a total investment of 7.11 billion yuan had been made. Resuming work in March 2025.
