With a total investment of 23.9 billion yuan, the gasification phase of China Coal Yulin Phase II project has seen the completion of its gasification framework

On September 29, the pouring of the main structure for Gasification Frame I of China Coal Yulin Phase II gasification project was successfully completed. Following the successful completion of Gasification Frame II, both core units were erected one after another; this achievement of having both frames completed marks the perfect end of the construction phase for the project’s core units. Gasification Frame I is a high-rise reinforced concrete frame-shear wall structure with a floor area of 3,568㎡ and a building area of 23,641㎡. It has 13 floors and a total height of 105m; it serves as the core component of the project, and its construction presents high standards and significant challenges. The gasifier adopts the AP (GE) semi-waste-boiler process with cooling, and is equipped with a water-coal slurry radial syngas cooler (RSC); this represents a large-scale demonstration project for the pressurized gasification of water-coal slurry using the AP (GE) semi-waste-boiler process. For the second phase of China Coal’s project, 4 slurry coal gasification units are to be constructed, with one additional unit reserved for future use. The nominal processing capacity of each unit is 2,860 tons of dry coal per day, resulting in a total effective gas output (CO+H2) of 616,000 m3/h ； 5 sets of coal grinding units are provided, with 1 additional slot reserved. The preliminary investment estimate for the China Coal Yulin Coal Deep Processing Base project is 23.888 billion yuan. The main construction components include 2.2 million tons per year of methanol and 900,000 tons per year of polyolefins; at the same time, the existing first-phase coal chemical plant will be optimized and upgraded, with the construction of a project for the production of 250,000 tons per year of LDPE/EVA through chain extension and enhancement, along with related facilities.
