Successful installation of giant tank at Argentina’s Jujuy chlor-alkali project Recently, a giant FRP fiberglass tank was successfully installed at the site of the Argentina’s Jujuy chlor-alkali project, which is operated by the East China branch. The tank weighs 42 tons, has a diameter of 11.5 meters and a height of 12.5 meters. Its precise installation marks the completion of the installation of all large-scale equipment at this project in Jujuy, Argentina, representing a key milestone toward achieving the annual targets. For this lifting operation, a 400-ton truck crane was used as the main equipment; through precise scheduling and scientific approaches, it was possible to lift the components, which weighed approximately 50 tons in total, smoothly. The task team maintained precise control throughout the process, ensuring that the components were removed from the molds accurately and transported safely to the designated installation location 21 meters away. The entire process was safe, controllable, efficient, and smooth, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality advancement of this project’s key stages. On February 24, 2023, the signing ceremony for the memorandum of understanding regarding the Aoyama South American chlor-alkali chemical project was successfully held in Jujuy Province, Argentina. This hydrochloric acid plant is Qingshan’s second project in South America, following the joint venture project at the Centenario Salt Lake in Salta, Argentina; it holds significant strategic importance as it ensures a timely and adequate supply of the chemical raw materials needed for the Centenario Salt Lake lithium mining project ； The production cost of lithium carbonate can be further reduced ； It can reach the world’s largest lithium resource cluster, the \"Lithium Triangle,\" serving as an important catalyst for the further development of Aoyama New Energy’s operations in South America. At the same time, this project represents Aoyama’s first investment in Jujuy Province, Argentina, and it has received strong support from the governor and the provincial government. Its efficient team worked together with Aoyama’s team for several months to ensure the smooth initiation and progress of the project. The project is located in the Perico Industrial Park; the construction period is expected to be 18 to 24 months, and it will create hundreds of job opportunities for the local community. It is reported that the first phase of the hydrochloric acid plant is expected to have an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of hydrochloric acid and 35,000 tons of caustic soda. The project’s main raw materials come from salt lake brine, and its products are almost entirely supplied to lithium mining in salt lakes; as a result, it has become an important link in Argentina’s development of the lithium industry chain. The project has received strong support from the group’s leadership, and the South American management team has also made thorough preparations. The first piece of equipment for the chlor-alkali project in Jujuy, Argentina, was successfully lifted onto its site on 2025-06-16. The first equipment unit of the chlor-alkali plant in Jujuy, built by Erhua Jian, was installed in place with precision, marking the official start of the equipment installation phase for this province’s first modern chlor-alkali project. Faced with the challenges of a Spanish-speaking work environment, the project team innovated its working methods. From safety training and visual presentation of drawings to the development of multilingual checklists and on-site guidance, the team worked closely together and managed to complete the entire process of unpacking, inspecting, transporting, and installing the equipment efficiently within just 3 hours. This represents a successful application of standard gesture commands by operators from China and Argentina, overcoming the language barriers that arise during the lifting of heavy equipment. The success of this lifting operation marks the full implementation of China’s chemical engineering construction standards in the South American market. This project represents another proactive effort by Erhua Jian to advance the Belt and Road Initiative and enhance the influence of its international brand, contributing Chinese wisdom and strength to the development of the global new energy industry.
