On November 27, the main structure of the 110 kV substation for the Maoming Petrochemical upgrading project, constructed by Sinopec Fourth Construction Company, was successfully completed, marking a new and crucial phase in the project’s development. The project faced numerous challenges during its implementation. Not only was there a delay in the delivery of the construction drawings, but work also had to be halted due to technical adjustments to those drawings, waiting for the changes to be made; this directly affected the progress of key construction stages ； At the same time, extreme weather conditions such as typhoons, heavy rainfall, and high summer temperatures occur frequently, forcing interruptions to outdoor and high-altitude work on many occasions. This results in a significant reduction in the number of days available for actual work, putting considerable pressure on project timelines. The key aspect of this plan was the innovative use of the \"semi-zone alternating flow construction method\" – by dividing the work area into two sections, the processes of formwork installation, rebar binding, and concrete pouring were carried out simultaneously, thus creating a seamless workflow that allowed continuous progress. Coupled with efficient allocation of human and mechanical resources, it was possible to complete the project three days ahead of the originally scheduled deadline of November 30th, while still ensuring quality. With the pouring of the final batch of concrete completed, achieving this milestone represents not only a temporary victory in the intense efforts being made but also boosts the team’s confidence.
