On December 10, at the coal chemical park in the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base in Ningxia, the first piece of equipment for the MTP (Methanol to Propylene) process technology upgrade project carried out by Lanxi Heavy Equipment was delivered and lifted – namely the sedimentation tank. This project utilizes China’s DMTO-III (third-generation methanol-to-olefins) technology to upgrade the MTP process, thereby constructing the largest single methanol-to-olefins facility in the country and establishing a complete high-end polyolefins industry chain. Lanshi Heavy Equipment undertook the manufacturing of 28 key pieces of equipment for a 3.6 million tons per year DMTO and olefin separation plant, a 300,000 tons per year LDPE plant, and a 15,000 tons per year butene-1 plant. The first piece of equipment delivered and lifted this time is a sedimentation tank weighing 64 tons, with a length of 22 meters and a diameter of 4.8 meters. It serves as a key separation device in the quench water treatment system of the DMTO-Ⅲ plant; it is used to effectively remove fine catalyst particles from the quench water, thereby ensuring the long-term stable operation of the system and enabling the recycling of water resources. During the manufacturing process, the LANSHI Heavy Equipment project team maintained close communication and collaboration, implementing a digital quality control system that covered every stage of the process – from raw material procurement to component processing, welding and assembly, as well as overall testing. This approach enabled the project to progress efficiently and with high quality, allowing the first unit to be manufactured successfully and laying a solid foundation for the rapid production of subsequent units. The MTP technological upgrade project of Ningxia Coal Industry is a landmark project for the development of China’s coal chemical industry toward higher sophistication, diversification, and lower carbon emissions. Taking the delivery and lifting of the first piece of equipment for the project as an opportunity, Lansi Heavy Equipment will continue to advance innovations in on-site manufacturing technologies and improve management practices. It will enhance its capabilities in manufacturing oversized equipment and key pressure-bearing devices, as well as raise the quality of its services, so as to meet customers’ needs more effectively through higher-quality products, more efficient project execution, and more professional services.
