As the title suggests, I have recently discovered that a batch of S30408RP1.0 stainless steel has a tensile strength exceeding 725 Mpa; its yield strength and yield ratio both meet the standard requirements. GB24511 only specifies a lower limit for tensile strength, but relevant design standards require that the upper limit for this property of steel shall not exceed 725 Mpa. Moreover, the Mobile Specification does not set any requirements regarding the mechanical properties of high-alloy steel. Question: Can this batch of steel plates still be used? Why don’t the Mobile Specifications include any requirements for the mechanical properties of high-alloy steel? I seek advice from experts; waiting online
An increase in tensile strength has an impact on plasticity, but in most cases this does not pose any problem. When we manufacture strain-strengthened containers made of austenitic stainless steel, we require that the tensile strength be ≤720 MPa, as strengthening leads to some degree of plastic deformation; this helps prevent excessively high strength from affecting the plastic properties
The elongation after fracture and yield strength both meet the standard requirements; can it be used?
