Currently, many boilers in the 26 cities involved are being converted from using coal to natural gas. For some older enterprises, space is limited and there is no pipeline natural gas supply available. I would like to ask the experts: if the safety distance required for LNG storage tanks does not meet the specifications for urban gas design, is it acceptable to use other standards instead? If it’s feasible, which standard should be used to convince experts to carry out the design? Thank you!
The storage tank can be buried; construction regulations only state that LPG can be buried. If that’s not possible, refer to the standard GB/T20368-2012 on the production, storage, and transportation of liquefied natural gas (LNG). However, the safety distance between the vaporizer and the vent pipe needs to be considered separately
According to the codes for town gas, I am currently in charge of projects involving the conversion from coal to natural gas. Due to limited space, the distance between the LNG storage tanks and the road is not sufficient; therefore, LNG cryogenic tanks were chosen as a solution. It might be possible to try using LNG tank trucks for on-site gasification, but there don’t seem to be any clear regulations regarding this.
GB50183-2004 should be used; although GB50183-2015 was released, it was suspended from implementation for some reason.
