I work at an LNG skid station, using tank trucks as temporary storage tanks. It often happens that liquid can flow in through the upper part of the tank truck but not through the lower part, or vice versa – liquid can flow in through the lower part but not through the upper part. Have anyone else encountered this issue? What’s going on here?

How do you determine whether fluid is entering from above or below, or not at all?
Is the pressure difference between the tank truck and the liquid tank too small?
It mainly depends on the pressure inside the tank and the actual operating conditions; the decision regarding whether liquid should be added from above or below is made to ensure the safety of the storage tank, based on your operational circumstances.
I haven’t encountered that situation; both pipe ends have the possibility for liquid to enter, which indicates that the pipe ends are not blocked. The ability to allow liquid to flow in indicates that there is a pressure difference. There shouldn’t be any problem.
