On June 26, news came from the Refining and Chemicals Company of Yanchang Petroleum Group stating that after 12 months of construction, all the main construction tasks for the Zhidan 200,000 tons per year LNG Phase II project had been completed, and an intermediate handover ceremony was held in Zhidan on that day. Once this project is completed and put into operation, Yanchang Petroleum will join the ranks of companies with an annual LNG processing capacity of millions of tons. As a key provincial construction project, the Zhidan LNG Phase II project has a total investment of 418 million yuan. It mainly includes a natural gas liquefaction plant with an annual capacity of 200,000 tons, LNG storage tanks with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters, a loading system for vehicles, as well as supporting facilities such as circulating water systems and power stations. The project was undertaken under EPC contract by Beijing Engineering Company; Huajian Company was responsible for the construction work, while the project construction command center of the refining and chemical company handled the owner’s management duties. Since the construction of this project began in April 2018, the various units and departments involved in its development have, guided by the goal of completing it, putting it into operation, and generating profits as soon as possible, overcome various obstacles and difficulties to accelerate the construction progress. Following the handover, all parties involved in the project will actively cooperate with the natural gas company to carry out the commissioning work, with the project expected to come online by the end of September. It is reported that once this project is completed and put into operation, the annual LNG processing capacity at Zidan Station will reach 400,000 tons. This will, together with the existing stations in Lintown, Yangjiawan, Yanchuan, and Ansai operated by the refining company, create a cluster effect that will help Yan’an Petroleum reach an annual LNG processing capacity of millions of tons. This will contribute to the structural adjustment and clustered development of the group company, serving as a new source of economic growth for the enterprise. It will also further improve the supply structure of multiple gas sources in Shaanxi and even the entire Northwest region.
