How many pumps are usually found in a storage tank? It seems that different companies use different terms for them; there are terms like submersible pumps, cryogenic pumps, and loading pumps… Are these all referring to the same type of pump?
It’s the same on land; it’s different on a ship.
Different substances and different tanks require different pumps: magnetic pumps, shielded pumps, centrifugal pumps, pipeline pumps, screw pumps, diaphragm pumps, vane pumps, vacuum pumps
Low-temperature submersible pump, tank internal pump. Loading pump, unloading pump – that’s its purpose. On land, pumps are generally divided into those inside the tank and those outside the tank; on ships, there are unloading pumps, spray pumps, etc., all of which are submersible pumps. As for the number of pumps used in a storage tank, and the capacity of those pumps, it is determined based on the operating conditions.
These pumps have different names, which are determined by their design, type, and function. In actual use, they are all submersible pumps that are placed inside low-temperature storage tanks, with both the motor and the pump submerged in the liquid.
