Recently, Shell Energy (China) Co., Ltd. signed medium- to long-term usage agreements for LNG receiving stations with the receiving station companies under **PetroChina Pipeline Network Group Co., Ltd.** This marks Shell as the first international energy company to sign a medium-to-long-term usage agreement with a pipeline-based LNG receiving station. Shell Energy (China) Co., Ltd. is Shell’s entity in China responsible for the trading of LNG, natural gas, electricity, and carbon assets. In January 2021, it obtained the status of **pipeline transporter, becoming one of the first large international energy companies to be admitted by the **pipeline group. Thereafter, Shell Energy took advantage of the window period at the State Grid receiving station to complete the unloading of LNG for direct supply to its downstream customers in China. As a low-carbon, clean fossil fuel, LNG will play a key role in a smoother and safer energy transition. Promoting the development of the LNG industry is in line with Shell’s strategic goal of \"enabling progress\" as well as China’s **energy strategy**. Shell is one of the international energy companies that supply the most LNG to China. Its long-term cooperation with **pipeline networks will help diversify the upstream gas sources for the LNG industry, facilitate the development of an \"X+1+X\" natural gas market framework, accelerate the energy transition, and contribute to achieving the \"dual carbon\" goals.
