Recently, the groundbreaking ceremony for the tank pile foundation works of the Jiangsu Huadian Ganyu LNG receiving station project was held, marking the entry of the project into its actual construction phase. As the first LNG receiving station project in the country led by a state-owned power enterprise, its construction is of great significance for enhancing the regional supply of gas for power generation and promoting green and low-carbon development. It is reported that the total investment in the Jiangsu Huadian Ganyu LNG receiving station project is approximately 6.4 billion yuan. The main components of this project include an LNG terminal, a receiving station, and transmission pipelines. The receiving station is designed to handle 3 million tons of LNG per year, and it will be equipped with 3 prestressed concrete low-temperature LNG storage tanks, each with a capacity of 220,000 cubic meters. Upon completion, the project will further enhance the safety, flexibility, and reliability of gas supply in Jiangsu Province and the Yangtze River Delta region, optimize the regional energy structure, and contribute to achieving the goals of \"carbon peak\" and \"carbon neutrality\". The LNG storage tank is the core facility of this project. As the \"foundation\" of the tank, the quality of its pile foundation directly affects the safety and service life of the entire structure. The pile foundation for this project is designed as bored cast-in-place piles with mud wall protection; each of the 3 storage tanks requires 379 such piles, with a diameter of 1.5 meters. A lead-core rubber seismic isolation pad is used to connect the top of the piles to the bearing platform, which demands extremely high precision in pile construction and strict control over the construction process. The project team of China National Chemical Corporation Tianchen stated that it will make full use of the technical, managerial, and innovative advantages of state-owned enterprises, strictly adhere to safety standards and quality requirements, and advance the project construction steadily, so as to contribute to the development of a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient modern energy system in China.
