❌ It’s behind. ✅ We’re behind schedule. / The project is falling behind the baseline. (“Behind schedule” is the proper term; “falling behind baseline” is more accurate in EPC contracts. ）
❌ We need to work faster. ✅ We need to catch up / get back on schedule. / We’ll arrange overtime to catch up. (“Catch up” is a natural way to express making up for lost time; “overtime” is also commonly used.) ）
❌ We have done 80% of the work. ✅ The overall progress today is 80%. / We have completed 80% of the scheduled tasks. (Using “overall progress” or “completed … of scheduled tasks” makes the statement clearer and more professional.) ）
Task assignment and responsibility: ❌ Who does this? ✅ Who is responsible for this? / Who is the owner of this action item? (“owner of action item” is the standard term in project management.) ）
❌ Team A does steel binding. ✅ Team A will be responsible for the steel binding. / Team A will handle the steel reinforcement installation. (“Does” is too casual; using “responsible for/handle” is the proper way to specify tasks.) ）
