Seeking advice: Which company offers high-quality glassware for experiments?
This post was last edited by qugd on 2017-5-10 at 11:56. The quality of glass instruments is greatly influenced by your company’s purchasing methods and the people responsible for making those purchases. Winning the bid at the lowest price usually does not result in products of satisfactory quality. If the person in charge of purchasing is not the one responsible for quality, then there will be no good products either. The quality of glass instruments depends first on the materials used, and second on the manufacturing techniques and precision, especially for those products with standard ports. When I was working in the laboratory over twenty years ago, the products used were mainly from Beibao and Tianbo; as for some special equipment, it was crafted personally by an experienced glass craftsman from our unit.
Currently, Beibao and Tianbo offer better quality, while Shuniu and Huaoeu are cheaper. Shuniu is thicker, whereas Huaoeu is relatively thinner. You get what you pay for.
But you have to get genuine Tianbo; there are many fake ones around these days.
I think that if you have manufacturers whose quality you are familiar with, it’s likely to be more reliable; if not, you need to be very careful. Agents these days are really terrible – I hope you stay cautious
It’s true that you get what you pay for, but the manufacturer also plays an important role. There are too many deceptive manufacturers these days who fabricate products to make a profit; I don’t know how to address this issue
Our company usually participates in offline trade shows, as it’s necessary to meet in person and see things firsthand. But during our last exhibition visit, we learned some things from industry professionals, and we also discovered a new platform called Zhanpai. Recently, our boss plans to purchase some laboratory equipment in small quantities through this platform; having an additional channel can be convenient. I hope this can help you
Regardless of what kind of mindset prevails, I still need to purchase testing instruments
