Is the original Gu Cai method for determining arsenic in sulfuric acid still valid? If it works, then use this method; although it’s more complicated to operate, the test results are reliable, otherwise it wouldn’t have become a standard method. If the Gu Cai method is no longer valid, then you’ll have to take samples and send them to a professional testing laboratory for analysis; and you don’t plan to purchase new equipment
The current standard should still allow the arsenic spot method to be used. It can also be determined using the reference silver salt method (spectrophotometer).
Thank you! The national standards state that the arsenic spot method can be used; I saw in GB/T 610 that the silver salt method (using a spectrophotometer) is also available. I assume using the silver salt method is also in compliance with the regulations, right?
The silver salt method was used in the repealed standard for industrial sulfuric acid, GB/T 534-2002; this can serve as a reference. There is definitely no problem with testing. Regarding compliance, it depends on the specific circumstances; generally, the existing 2014 standards are considered applicable. If this indicator is of great significance to you, and if the silver salt method test shows a value that exceeds the limit, you can apply for arbitration.
