There is a new leader in our department. I need to convert the workload related to testing into man-hours, and I also need to take the difficulty level into account. Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you.

The operation time for each testing item (including preparation before the experiment and cleanup after it, excluding waiting time) multiplied by the number of times that testing item is performed in a day; Adding up all the items gives the total number of hours required in the laboratory for that day
Take a look at the sampling time and analysis time, and consider them together.
First, consider the time required for the basic preparatory work, which is taken as base 1. Then, determine how many times the time needed for the remaining steps of a particular test is of this base value; additionally, a coefficient can be used to reflect the level of difficulty. By using these factors, the time required for each test can be calculated
We have done this before as well, analyzing the intensity coefficients and technical coefficients for each sample, but we didn’t put it into practice due to various issues.
It’s just as @sxqssong said; of course, we also need to take into account the risk associated with each analysis, the comfort of the environment, and of course, the probability of errors occurring. . .
