What is the difference between the freezing point and cloud point of oils?
The cloud point refers to the highest temperature at which, under test conditions, microcrystals of hydrocarbons or water mist begin to appear, causing the oil to become turbid. After the oil reaches its cloud point, it continues to be cooled until visible crystals appear in the oil; the temperature at this point is known as the oil’s crystallization point, commonly referred to as the freezing point
