Which is better, the LeCroy pH meter electrode or the Russell pH electrode? The pH of the test sample is approximately between 12 and 14.
Leici is China’s leading manufacturer of pH electrodes and pH measurement instruments. As for that Russell brand, to be honest, I’ve been working in analysis for over 30 years and have never heard of it.
Besides Leici and Russell, what other brands of domestic electrodes are there?

When measuring the pH of solutions with a pH meter at pH values above 12, a significant alkaline deviation is always present, and the stronger the alkalinity, the more pronounced this deviation becomes. Any pH meter will have an alkali error. For such strongly alkaline solutions, it is more reliable to determine the alkalinity rather than measuring it with a pH meter. Taking a sample with pH 13 as an example, if it is a solution of the strong base sodium hydroxide, then its concentration is 0.1 M, which corresponds to approximately a 4% sodium hydroxide solution. For such an alkaline solution, it is obviously more accurate and reliable to measure the alkalinity value directly.
