When using automatic potentiometric titration to determine the basic nitrogen in petroleum products, it was found that the results obtained for the same sample varied greatly (15.00 ppm and 3.34 ppm), with all other operating conditions remaining unchanged. I seek the experts’ guidance...
1. It may be due to poor electrode stability or insufficient sensitivity. 2. There might be certain interfering substances in the solvent, especially the effect of small amounts of water. 3. Inadequate skill in operation; you could seek further training at the Petroleum and Chemical Engineering Research Institute
There is a 30-second mixing time before each titration, ensuring uniform dissolution.
