When liquid ethylene leaks from the low-temperature tank area of our ethylene plant, it vaporizes in large quantities to form white, smoke-like gaseous ethylene, often creating a thick layer of ethylene mist on the ground. Why don’t the people working at the plant pay any attention to this, nor do they take any protective measures? I’m wondering whether, in such a situation, in the presence of an ignition source (sparks), intense burning and explosion wouldn’t occur? I know that the explosive range of ethylene is quite wide; why doesn’t everyone take it seriously? I hope some knowledgeable experts can help analyze this

You should, with a sense of responsibility toward the factory and safety, submit a written report to your direct supervisor or to the person in charge of safety at the factory. Discussing with fellow forum users won’t solve the problems at your factory, right? ;P{:2_40:} Just because people don’t take it seriously doesn’t mean there are no safety hazards. Perhaps it’s the case that those who are ignorant are fearless, or maybe there truly is a spirit of fearless sacrifice. If it’s the latter, the factory should provide insurance so that their efforts are compensated for. Also, the site is hot and humid; could it be that there are low-temperature devices at the site that absorb heat, resulting in lower temperatures in certain areas and causing the moisture in the air to condense into fog?
The ethylene storage area constitutes a major hazard source; in the event of a leak that leads to a serious accident, the consequences would be equivalent to those of a heavy bomb. You can look up any previous ethylene storage tank explosion accidents that have occurred in China. The only thing you can do is report it for handling. Stay attentive while on duty, and avoid staying in hazardous areas after work.
