The company recently received a batch of solid aluminum sulfate. The product is essentially a white powder, but it contains many visible black impurities. The level of water-insoluble substances is within acceptable limits. Industry standards specify that the appearance should be that of a white powder, with no requirements regarding impurities. Our quality control center has determined that it is unqualified based on its appearance, as there are numerous black impurities present. How should one determine what to do in such a situation? Has anyone else encountered a similar case?
In general, when such a situation occurs, it should be reported to the manufacturer to determine that the appearance is unsatisfactory. It can be accepted with some concessions as long as it does not affect usage.
