Implementation date: CNAS-CL01-A025:2022, \"Guidelines for the Application of the Criteria for the Accreditation of Testing and Calibration Laboratories in the Field of Calibration,\" was issued on January 20, 2022, and came into effect on the same date. 2. Transition period: Certain provisions in CNAS-CL01-A025:2022 regarding the surveillance audits and re-audits of accredited institutions have a transition period extending until January 20, 2024. For laboratories prior to January 31, 2020, the old version of the documents applies to initial approval applications submitted before January 20, 2022, as well as applications for scope expansion, and to re-evaluation, scope expansion, and surveillance audits for which an on-site audit notice has already been issued. Laboratories after January 20, 2041: Initial accreditation applications submitted after January 20, 2022, as well as requests for expansion by already accredited institutions, must comply with the new version of the documents. 5. Policies during the transition period: 1. From January 20, 2022, to January 20, 2024, re-evaluations and surveillance audits of recognized institutions shall be conducted in accordance with the new version of the documents ； 2, 6.2.2.1a) and b), 6.2.3, 6.3.3, and 7.11.1 are not applicable during the transition period; laboratories may choose not to implement them ； 3. For re-evaluations, surveillance evaluations, and combined expansion evaluations conducted by accredited agencies, full compliance with the new version of the documents is required. 6 Final conversion: Starting from January 21, 2024, all applications and evaluations must fully comply with the new version of the documents. 7 Core Changes: The core change lies in the changes regarding personnel requirements. 6.2.2.1 The personnel working in calibration laboratories must meet the requirements specified in CNAS-CL01-G001, as well as the following requirements: a) Those who are authorized to sign off in more than 3 calibration specialties must hold a qualification certificate as a Level 2 or Level 1 registered metrologist, or possess an advanced technical title in a related field ； Signatories in the field of authorization signing who are involved in more than 3 calibration specialties must hold a qualification certificate for first-level registered metrologists or a senior technical title in a related field ； b) The technical supervisor should have over 5 years of experience in calibration technology, and hold a qualification certificate for a first-level registered metrologist or an advanced technical title in a related field ； c) Personnel responsible for the development and validation of non-standard methods shall hold a qualification certificate as a first-level registered metrologist or a senior technical title in a related field ； d) The key personnel and calibration staff in the laboratory should be permanent employees, and their age should not exceed 65 years. 6.2.2.2 The competency training for calibration personnel should include basic knowledge of metrological calibration, specialized technical knowledge, and operational skills training. The institutions or individuals responsible for providing such training must possess the appropriate qualifications or capabilities. Regarding trainers, the following requirements generally apply: a) Trainers in basic knowledge of metrological calibration should hold a certificate as a Level 1 Registered Metrologist or have an advanced technical title in a related field ； b) Instructors for professional technical training should hold a qualification certificate as a Level 2 or Level 1 registered metrologist, or possess a senior technical title in a related field, and have at least 5 years of experience working in the calibration specialty they teach ； c) Instructors for operational skills training should have at least 3 years of experience in the calibration of the projects they teach. For certain special or new projects that may not have trainers meeting this requirement, the following training options or trainers can be chosen: 1) Training on operational skills provided by the equipment manufacturers of the measurement standards ； 2) Training organized by the body that developed or issued the calibration method ； 3) Trainers shall be calibration personnel who hold a qualification certificate for first-class registered metrologists or a senior technical title in a related field, and have more than 5 years of experience in relevant calibration work. 6.2.3 In each calibration specialty area of a calibration laboratory that provides calibration services to society (customers outside the organization), at least one person must hold a registration certificate for metrologists at level 2 or above, or possess at least 3 years of experience in calibration work in that specific specialty area. 8 Solution: The solution is to obtain a certified metrologist certificate!
