That gentleman has technical materials on carbon tetraaromatization
Now it has mostly been changed to naphtha aromatization.
May I ask, if naphtha is used as the raw material for aromatization, is the catalyst the same one used for C4? Are there any changes in the formulation? :)
I really don’t understand this, but the catalyst used in our plants is obtained by mixing tetrahydrocarbons obtained after etherification with naphtha in a certain ratio; this indicates that the composition is roughly the same. Nowadays, since using tetrahydrocarbons obtained after etherification as a raw material for alkylation is more economically advantageous, most plants use naphtha directly as the feedstock. There are still some plants that use a mixture of naphtha and 8% methanol as the feedstock, as this helps to increase the liquid yield and octane rating.
In principle, the C4 aromatization catalyst can be used directly as a naphtha aromatization catalyst; it’s merely a matter of reaction activity levels.
